Our goal – as it has always been with TheatriCamp - is to get to know each performer individually, identify their level of talent and experience, understand what they would like to achieve, and then challenge them to take the next step forward in a way that will help them realize their goals.

 

Our local high school programs are very competitive, and often they do not offer enough

opportunities for everyone involved to play a featured role in their shows.

We want to give these kids more opportunity to:

    • Play characters from the beginning to the end of a story

    • Spend time learning more of the craft of acting

    • Experience a wider variety of musical theatre dance

    • Go deeper into vocal technique and further develop their singing skills

    • Be challenged and stretched in a way that doesn’t often happen in a high school production

       or in other summer programs

 

In addition, we would like to use our time with these young people to:

    • Work on Audition techniques

    • Help them build their “book” of audition songs

    • Bring in Guest Artists to talk about preparing for college and a career in the performing arts

 

For those who have been with us in TheatriCamp – some for many years – we are very excited to have an opportunity to work with them now that they are approaching adulthood.  And for all of the high schoolers who now have more experience and have developed more skills, we look forward to being able to offer much more advanced roles and material to challenge them, expand their skill set, and further prepare them for what is to come in their performing lives!
